Basil, Thai Siam Queen - Ocimum x citriodorum 'Siam Queen'

Type: Annual

Originating in warm tropical regions, Basil has become synonymous with the Mediterranean region, where the hot sunny climate allows it to thrive. It does not do well outdoors in cool Summers. Basil is considered an annual in Britain, but can have its life extended if it is brought indoors when the weather cools. As a culinary herb, Basil needs to be cut to ensure continued leaf production, as if left to its own devices, will become woody and produce small white flowers.

An excellent strain - vigorous upright plant with large dark green leaves and numerous red-purple stems, Basil Siam Queen has a spicy aniseed/liquorice aroma and flavour.

Ideally grown in pots or containers. Height: 30cm-60cm
