Originally from North America, Lemon Bergamot prefers a sunny position, and these beautiful plants are not out of place in the border, and they are very attractive to bees and butterflies.
Monarda citriodora, or Lemon Bergamot, is an annual with long oblong shaped leaves and abundant white or pink flowers that can be dotted with purple. Flowers will appear from mid-summer to the first frosts.
Aromatic leaves with a lemon-like aroma. Used to make tea and flavour game. Leaves contain citronellol, effective as an insect repellant.
