Comfrey Dwarf - Symphytum ibericum

Type: Perennial

Dwarf Comfrey or Symphytum ibericum is a hardy perennial that reaches a height of 30 cm when fully established, and can spread up to 1m, making this an excellent choice for a ground cover, particularly for areas beneath trees where it is difficult to establish other plants.

Happiest in moist soil, Dwarf Comfrey is a very attractive plant that produces clusters of blue/pink flowers that fade to pale pink in spring. These are held above small, mid green leaves, which are covered with slightly prickly hairs. As with all comfrey, the leaves are good for compost, and will be happy if divided every couple of years.
