Echinacea Pallida (pale purple coneflower) - Echinacea pallida

Type: Perennial

The pale purple coneflower is a native of North America which has become an important natural therapy in resisting infection. It is grown for the roots and rhizomes, which are lifted in autumn and used in healing preparations. Echinacea  is an attractive plant not out of place in the herbaceous border, and can grow to be 1m tall.

The flowers are daisy-like, conical and a pale purple colour with a scent of honey. Once established, this perennial will grow well in most situations, and tolerates drought.

An excellent addition to any part of the garden.
