Germander wall - Teucrium chamaedrys

Type: Perennial

Shrubby aromatic perennial with a creeping rootstock. Dark, deeply veined leaves 30mm long. Small Pink/magenta flowers are born in summer and autumn. 10-25cm height and spread.

A bitter, astringent, anti inflamatory. Used for a number of remedies as well as being combined with other herbs. Alao leaves are used to flavour liquers and vermouths and tonic wines.

Should not be confused as Hedge germander!
