Blue African Basil (Ocimum kilimandscharicum) Herb in 1 litre Pot
This herb is a great culinary variety and a lovely garden plant. It has purple veined leaves and an impressive pink edible flower. It is a sterile hybrid of two other species of Basil it blooms profusely, but being sterile can never go to seed. It is also taller than many basil cultivars. It is very attractive to bees and other pollinators. This plant should be treated as an annual it may overwinter in a green house but it may struggle due to shorter days.
Herb Usage
Use in the same way as normal basil. All parts of the flower, leaves and stems are edible, although some might find the camphor scent strong in this variety, as with all Basil it will make a great pesto and can be used as a seasoning in soups and salads, particularly those featuring tomato, green beans or chicken.
