Sage Germander (Salvia chamaedryoides) Herb in 1 Litre Pot 

Sage Germander is an evergreen perennial native to Mexico.  It spreads freely with grey evergreen leaves with soft violet blue flowers appearing from early June to Nov. Hardy in a sheltered free draining spot. 

The ideal time for cutting back flowering shrub sages, is the Spring once new growth can be seen from the base and risk of frost has past. Cut up to half the plant back shaping as needed. If Sages are becoming leggy then a light summer cut may be required to encourage flowers and new growth. Dead heading the old flowers will encourage new flowers all season.

Herb Usage

Sage Germander is grown as a decorative border plant this sage is not renowned for culinary or medicinal use. It is best grown to admire the striking floral display which is also popular with pollinating insects.  Sage Germander does have the distinctive sage leaf aroma which allows them to be used in summer drinks and sparingly cut into salads if desired.
