Orange-Scented Thyme (Thymus 'Fragrantissimus') Herb in 9cm Pot
Thyme is grown the world over as it is such a versatile plant, not only is its foliage is attractive, the flowers are long-lasting and very pretty, and it is drought tolerant - an overall easy-care plant. On top of that it is one of the most useful herbs for the kitchen.
Orange-Scented Thyme reaches a maximum height of 20-30 cm and with its small grey-green leaves and pale rose to white flowers, this thyme is an excellent ground cover plant, it is suitable for planting in the rock garden, herb garden or the front of a border, or Thymes are also known as very good container plants, orange-scented thyme is particularly nice as you can brush past it on a sunny patio to release the fresh orange scent. Orange-Scented Thyme likes a well-drained light soil, and it should not be too rich in nutrients as this will only encourage the plant to grow 'leggy' and lose its compact shape, also ensure that the plant is cut back after flowering again to help maintain shape. Being a native of the Mediterranean it needs a place in full sun.
Herb Usage
Orange-Scented Thyme is an excellent herb for flavouring stuffing and stews, and is ideal added to a bouquet-garni. Pies and chutneys are also given an extra lift when this aromatic herb is added. It has also been used for many centuries medicinally and its essential oils have been used to treat aches and pains and sprains.

Fragrant!
Orange thyme, what's not to like? This is a small plant but looks sturdy. I'm looking forward to using it in salads and desserts. Good packaging, swift delivery, fantastic choice of herbs.

It is too early to say how this plant will do, but from first appearance it looks very well grown, with care and attention and I am very hopeful that it will do extremely well.

Oh dear!
This was the fourth plant in my order. All arrived well packaged & in good health apart from this sorry looking plant! It looked half dead when it arrived, I thought it would revive with some tlc but no, it now looks totally dead! How disappointing, I had never heard of orange scented thyme so was looking forward to receiving it. From Malcolm at Hooksgreen Herbs: I have today arranged a replacemnt Orange scented thyme to be sent.
