Moroccan Mint (Mentha spicata 'Moroccan') Herb in 1 litre pot (NOT GENERALLY AVAILABLE IN THIS SIZE)

Moroccan Mint is a native of Europe, but has been naturalised worldwide. Mint will thrive anywhere, preferring moist partly shady areas, and are easy to grow from cuttings or replanting of runners. To control spread, this herb should be planted in sunken bottomless containers and kept well watered to ensure good leaf production. Moroccan Mint will produce small mauve flower spikes in mid to late summer, and grow 30-60 cm tall. Moroccan Mint is a spearmint and is a more compact plant than other spearmints, and is the best variety for making spearmint tea. An excellent all-rounder. This hardy perennial is essentially a culinary herb used in sauces to complement meats (mint sauce with lamb), soups, salads, vegetable dishes, sweet dishes and drinks. Salvia microphylla var. microphylla (Sage, Blackcurrant) Herb in 1L Pot

Blackcurrant Sage is such an attractive plant that most who see it, wish they had one in their garden! Growing up to 1.2m tall, Salvia microphylla var. microphylla, along with all the Salvia microphylla varieties, originated in the mountain regions of Central America, and thus prefers warmer climates than we traditionally experience in the UK. However, Blackcurrant Sage can still thrive here if given protection from cold and excessive wet in the winter. Once established in well-drained soil in a sunny site, Blackcurrant Sage will put on a show of striking cerise flowers in summer. The fragrant leaves are small and oval shaped, and have a wonderful scent of blackcurrant . Flowering from spring through to early autumn. As with all Salvias it has aromatic green leaves but in the Microphylla species or mountain sage as it is commonly known these are smaller than in the common sage. A great addition to the garden Blackcurrant Sage prefers a sunny spot flourishing in a well drained border or in a large pot.

Sage has been used for centuries as a culinary herb, Blackcurrant Sage is grown as a perennial herb plant primarily for its flowers, which are highly attractive to bees and butterflies. However, the leaves and flowers can be used in the kitchen to add a hint of blackcurrant to baking or summer drinks.
