Burnet 'Tanna' (Sanguisorba 'Tanna') Herb in 1lt Pot
This lovely variety of Burnet has glossy green foliage and masses of deep red rounded flowers from midsummer onwards. It prefers a sunny open spot. Height 60cm-80cm. Burnet or Sanguisorba 'tannia' is a perennial semi-evergreen plant that will provide abundant leaves for most of the year, and is a really lovely filler in the border with its unusual foliage and tight bobble-like flowers on top of light airy stems.
Burnet prefers moist fertile soil, and will tolerate sun or partial shade. Producing globe shaped Dark Red flowers on tall stems in summer, this herb is cultivated for it's diaphanous effect as you can see through the stems to the planting behind it, it has an almost grass like effect but with the added interest of the flower-heads.

Burnet 'Tannia' is cultivated primarily for its flower and is a great addition to the herbaceous border.
