Chocolate Peppermint (Mentha x piperita f. citrata 'Chocolate') Herb in 9cm Pot
Mentha x piperita "chocolate"is a native of Europe, but has been naturalised worldwide. Mint will thrive anywhere, preferring moist partly shady areas, and are easy to grow from cuttings or replanting of runners. To control spread, this herb should be planted in sunken bottomless containers and kept well watered to ensure good leaf production.
Chocolate peppermint will produce small mauve flower spikes in mid to late summer, and grow 30-45cm tall.
Herb Uses
The overriding aroma of this mint is "After Eights" and it has a very rich peppermint aroma and taste, with attractive dark foliage. Great in ice cream, sorbet and summer drinks.
