Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium) Herb in 9cm pot

Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium 'Aureum'), formerly (Chrysanthemum parthenium)  is grown mostly for its beautiful light green foliage, which forms a low bushy mound approx 20-60cm tall, perfect for edging. It is at home in both the flower and herb garden. Plants burst into a display of single white daises between July and October,. A short-lived perennial, this will self-sow about and should return for many years. Will remain evergreen in most areas.

Native to southeastern Europe, Feverfew is now widespread throughout Europe, North America, and Australia, Feverfew does enjoy full sun but will tolerate some shade.

Herb Usage

Feverfew has been used for centuries in European folk medicine as a remedy for headaches, arthritis, and fevers. The term feverfew is adapted from the Latin word febrifugia or "fever reducer." The leaves of Feverfew are harvested, and have been heralded as an aid to control migraine headaches.
