Celery Leaf, or Apium graveolens is a fully hardy biennial plant that produces aromatic, fresh leaves with a strong flavour of celery. Also known as Wild Celery, this attractive plant will send up furrowed stalks in its second year of life, which hold tiny green-white flowers. A really lovely addition to the herb garden, and often overlooked, although its uses are myriad:
The young leaves are lovely used in salads or to flavour soups and sauces, and there is some evidence of benefit to those who suffer from osteo-arthritis. Excellent used in cocktails and summer drinks too.
