Curled Parsley (Petroselinum crispum) Herb Seeds
Densely curled very prolific plant. Curled Parsley is a clump-forming plant, preferring rich well-drained soil in a sunny or partially shady site, performs well in a potted situation. The leaves are very rich in iron and Vitamin A, C and E, and although yellow-green flowers are produced in umbels in summer, it is best to employ a rotational planting system to ensure that you have fresh young leaves all season.
Green leaves used extensively in cooking and as a garnish. The classic recipe would be a parsley sauce which is a great accompaniment to fish or boiled ham Parsley also has the ability to counter strong odours so is often used with garlic or onions.
Sow in pots or module trays in the Spring. Cover seed with a good layer of vermiculite. Seed takes 3-6 weeks to germinate, but will be quicker if soaked in warm water overnight prior to sowing.
