Some Herbs may be too tall for our standard packaging and will be trimmed to fit. This will not be detrimental to the plant but will mean that these herbs will flower later in the year.

Bergamot 'Cambridge Scarlet'(Monarda 'Cambridge Scarlet')Herb in 1 Litre Pot
Bergamot or Bee Balm as they are also known are a lovely addition to the border and 'Cambridge Scarlet' is a lovely example. This erect hardy perennial has green oval toothed leaves, that are highly scented and will form a lovely bush in mid summer growing up to a height of 1M. The stunning tubular claw shaped flowers are as the name suggests Scarlet and produced in fabulous whorls , like fancy crowns, usually with red-tinged bracts. These can be quite show stopping, and the flowers can last well into autumn, dead-heading will help prolong the show.
'Cambridge Scarlet' has a distinctive bright Scarlet colour, and as the common name bee balm implies they will attract butterflies and bees to the garden in great numbers.
Preferring moist soil, Bergamot will flourish in full sun or partial shade, and almost any soil type. These prairie plants will add vibrant colour to any border. Cut back in Autumn to ensure good growth in the spring. Plants can be divided in the Autumn every three years or so.
Bergamot is probably most recognised as the flavouring for Earl Grey Tea, the leaves produce the same aroma and essential oils have been derived from the plant which are used for their calming effect. Used to make tea and flavour game, Bergamot has many uses, and as the leaves contain citronellol, they are also effective as an insect repellent. The foliage is aromatic, and leaves are sometimes picked for potpourri.

This was one of seven plants I ordered for delivery I've never received such well packaged healthy plants & quick delivery with online orders in the past, repotted them immediately & they've never looked back already doubled in size, very happy customer will definitely be ordering more when I can squeeze more in my garden!
A large order was delivered within 48 hours by Hooks Green Herbs, despite the coronavirus lockdown. All were beautiful healthy plants and very well packaged. By contrast another order placed with a 'leading' supplier has taken 5 weeks to arrive, some are the wrong plants and several are clearly unviable and won't survive. If you're going to order on line there's only place to go - Hooks Green Herbs.
My plants arrived yesterday very well packed in containers that I will re-use and that are eco friendly. It was a joy to unpack them and find them in beautiful condition (I've never ordered plants online before needs must due to lock-down) Will use you service again can't wait to plants them and watch them grow. Thank-you.
These plants arrived without delays and well packed. They are strong, health and beautiful. I couldn't expect any better. Thank you .
