Selfheal 'Rose Pearl' is a delightful compact creeping aromatic semi-evergreen perennial with oblong ovate leaves. Whorls of Purple-pink two-lipped flowers appear on compact spikes, from mid summer to autumn. Selfheal 'Rose Pearl' prefers full sun or partial shade with free draining, but moist soil or compost. It is perfect for a late summer or early autumn display use at the front of a border, take care near lawns as it can spread into it better to have it contained by paving or plant in a container as it can spread easily it is related to mint and like mint really needs containment to where you are happy for it to grow.
Prunella Vulgaris has been used medicinally for centuries, the entire plant, which is edible, can be used both internally and externally to treat a number of health complaints and wounds.The plant’s most common use is for the treatment of cold sores & treating high blood-pressure, it is also said to be a powerful antioxidant with antibiotic properties which has given it a reputation for being excellent for the immune, cardiovascular, and lymphatic system.

Topically, it has been used as a poultice, salve, or cream to help aid in the healing of cuts, wounds, bee stings, and varicose veins among many other things! This particular variety however is grown for its more pronounced pink flowers.
