Chinese Angelica (Angelica sinensis) Herb Seeds

Chinese Angelica is a biennial plant that is becoming more and more fashionable in the garden, and is a fabulous addition to any border as it has bright green foliage and creamy-white to greenish-white flowers in flat umbels that are ten to twenty centimeters wide, similar in look to cow-parsley. The foliage and hollow grooved stems have a faint aniseed odor. Angelica is a graceful plant in any situation.

A large architecturally stunning plant that can reach 1.5M tall, Angelica is an interesting addition to the herb garden, it will also take its place in the border too. They are best sited in a full sun position, but will take some shade, and prefer moist soil.

Due to the size of the plant and leaves, Angelica can be windblown, so may need staking once it has reached full size.

Growing Instructions

As with other Angelica's the seeds need to be planted in warm conditions, under glass Jan -June and covered with a thin layer of compost/vermiculite. Germination should be from 14-21 days.

Herb Usage
