Purple Flowering Autumn Sage (Salvia greggii x serpyllifolia )Herb in 1L Pot

Purple Flowering Autumn Sage is a perennial that grows highly scented green foliage from early summer and produces long stems of violet blue flowers.  Autumn Sage prefers a sunny spot flourishing in a well drained border or in a large pot, growing to a height of no more than three feet it is a great plant to edge a path in order to get the benefit of the scented leaves as you brush past.  Despite its name it will begin flowering in early summer through to the autumn dead heading the old flowers will encourage new flowers all season. The ideal time for cutting back flowering shrub sages, is the Spring once new growth can be seen and risk of frost has past. Cut up to half the plant back shaping as needed. If Sages are becoming leggy then a light summer cut may be required.
